Iconic actor Dick Van Dyke, best known for his role in Mary Poppins, stars in Coldplay’s latest music video as he approaches his 99th birthday.

Filmed at his Malibu beachside home, the video serves as a poignant reflection on Van Dyke’s life and the passage of time.

Set to the tender ballad All My Love, the seven-minute film captures Van Dyke’s memories, his connection to family, and his reflections on aging.

I’m acutely aware that I could go any day now,” he says in the video. “But I don’t know why it doesn’t concern me. I’m not afraid of it. I have the feeling that I’m gonna be alright.”

The video was co-directed by Mary Wigmore and acclaimed filmmaker Spike Jonze, known for his work on Being John Malkovich and Her.

Together, they craft an intimate and heartfelt portrait of Van Dyke, showcasing his enduring charm and wit. The actor, whose illustrious career includes Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Bye Bye Birdie, and Diagnosis: Murder, invites the filmmakers into his home, giving audiences a glimpse of memorabilia from his legendary roles.

Among the treasures is a life-size replica of Bert, his chimney-sweeping character from Mary Poppins.

One of the video’s highlights is Van Dyke’s recreation of The Twizzle, a flexible dance routine from The Dick Van Dyke Show.

On his patio, he performs the moves while Coldplay’s Chris Martin serenades him. Adding to the magic, Van Dyke dances barefoot with his wife, Arlene Silver, radiating joy and love.

The film captures the actor’s enduring vitality, showcasing his passion for life despite his advancing age.
