Megan Thee Stallion, whose legal name is Megan Pete, has been granted an extended restraining order against fellow rapper Tory Lanez, whose legal name is Daystar Peterson. This protective order will remain in effect until January 2030.
The order, issued by a Los Angeles judge, stems from Megan’s allegations that Lanez has been harassing her from prison through intermediaries. Lanez is currently serving a 10-year sentence for shooting Megan in the foot during an altercation in July 2020.
The incident occurred as the pair left a party at Kylie Jenner’s Hollywood Hills home, with Lanez reportedly shouting at Megan to dance as she walked away from their SUV.
In November, Megan initially secured a temporary restraining order, claiming that Lanez had been using third parties to continue his harassment. Her petition highlighted evidence from the California jail where Lanez is incarcerated, including call logs that allegedly show him coordinating online attacks on Megan’s credibility.
Among the accusations, Lanez is said to have spread false claims regarding missing gun and bullet fragment evidence in the case. These alleged actions prompted Megan’s legal team to seek a more permanent protective measure.
During the hearing on Thursday, the judge ruled in favor of extending the temporary restraining order. The court found that Megan’s legal team had provided sufficient proof of the ongoing harassment to justify the extension.

Lanez’s attorney objected to the restraining order, arguing that his client’s current incarceration eliminates any potential threat to Megan. The lawyer emphasized that there has been no direct interaction between the two recently, questioning the necessity of the extended order.
