Afrobeats megastar Davido has officially unveiled the tracklist for his much-anticipated fifth studio album titled 5ive, set to drop on April 18.

The announcement was made via a captivating promotional video shared across his social media platforms, generating immense excitement among fans. In the video, Davido appears contemplative and confident, narrating, “Legacy is not what you leave behind, but what you breathe into the future.”

He ended the post with a heartfelt message, saying, “72 hours away! Thank you for the love & support.” This emotional declaration has only heightened anticipation for what many expect to be another genre-defining body of work from the superstar.

The forthcoming album boasts an impressive lineup of features, with Afrobeats talents Omah Lay and Victony bringing their unique flair to the project.

Notably, OdumoduBlvck and Chike, two of Nigeria’s most dynamic and expressive voices, join Davido on the record, with Chike lending his vocals to the previously released single, Fund.

The inclusion of such a rich blend of Nigerian artists highlights Davido’s continued commitment to celebrating the diversity and power of homegrown talent, while also staying at the forefront of the evolving Afrobeats sound.

International collaborations also shine brightly on 5ive, starting with Jamaican rising star YG Marley, who features on Awuke, the album’s first single.

Davido expands his Caribbean connections by enlisting dancehall star Shensea and reggae fusion act 450, deepening the album’s sonic range with influences from island rhythms.

His ability to seamlessly fuse African sounds with global genres continues to distinguish him as one of Africa’s most ambitious and internationally-minded artists.

Reflecting on this direction in a livestream with alternative artist and Twitch host Cruel Santino, Davido explained, “It’s called 5ive because it’s not just my fifth album, it’s a new level—different sounds, different energy.”

The global appeal of 5ive is unmistakable, with the album also featuring long-time collaborator and American R&B icon Chris Brown.

The duo’s musical chemistry, refined over multiple hits, adds familiarity and polish to the tracklist. Davido also brought on Grammy-winning American singer Victoria Monét and Latin pop sensation Becky G, ensuring that the album touches a wide range of cultural corners.

The presence of these international heavyweights reaffirms Davido’s role as a bridge between Afrobeats and other global music movements, solidifying his place in the crossover space he has long championed.

Rounding out the multicultural flair of the album is South African Amapiano star Musa Keys, who reunites with Davido following their Grammy-nominated single Unavailable from Timeless.

French music lovers will also be thrilled to see the names of Dadju and Tayc, both of whom bring a French urban pop feel to the mix.

Davido’s curation of such a diverse range of artists is no accident; it’s a strategic move that reflects his vision of Afrobeats as a universal sound.

As the countdown to 5ive continues, fans around the world eagerly await what promises to be one of the biggest releases of the year.
