Veteran Nollywood actor Ganiyu Oyeyemi’s popularly known as Ogunjimi has passed away. The news of his death was announced on social media 26 April 2024.
Known for his iconic herbalist roles, Ogunjimi was a prominent figure in the Yoruba Nollywood sector during the mid-90s to early 2000s.
The announcement of his death was made by his junior colleague Kunle Afod, who expressed his grief on Instagram, stating, “We tried our best but God loves you more. May his soul rest in peace
May his soul rest in peace.” However, the cause and exact date of Ogunjimi’s passing remain undisclosed at the time of reporting.
This loss adds to the recent string of bereavements in the Nigerian movie industry, coming just days after the passing of another Nollywood veteran, Pa Zulu Adigwe.
