Nollywood filmmaker Robert O. Peters has released the trailer for his new film, “Skeleton Coast,” which showcases a diverse cast and crew from Hollywood, Nollywood, Ghallywood, and the film industries of South Africa and Namibia.
In an Instagram post on May 22, 2024, Peters expressed that the film is not just a movie but a celebration of African storytelling and the concept of Ubuntu.
The trailer reveals a narrative centered on a private firm accused of environmental pollution. The firm recruits a Nigerian research team to find a rare radioactive element, more potent than uranium.
As the team discovers the element, they become wary of the firm’s intentions, leading to a dramatic turn in the story. The film is set on Namibia’s Skeleton Coast, also known as “The Land God Made in Anger.”
“Skeleton Coast” is a collaborative production between Nigeria’s Play Network Studios and Namibia’s Mondajila Studios, directed by Robert O. Peters. Executive producers include Panashe Daringo and Charles Okpaleke OON, with Rogers Ofime and Arafat Bello-Osagie as co-producers.
The cast features prominent actors such as Ini Dima-Okojie, Thapelo Mokoena, Tjuna Daringo, Mawuli Gavor, Cindy Mahlangu, Damilola Adegbite, and Golden Globe and Academy Award-nominated actor Eric Roberts.
