Nigerian music artist Burna Boy has broken his own record for the highest-grossing concert by an African artist in the United States. Following the release of his 2023 album ‘I Told Them,’ Burna Boy embarked on a worldwide tour, selling out venues across America, Europe, and the Caribbean.

According to Touring Data, he grossed $1.725 million at his March 7, 2024, concert at the Capital One Arena in Washington, surpassing his previous record set at the TD Garden in Boston.

This achievement underscores Burna Boy’s status as a leading African artist globally. Earlier in 2024, he made history by becoming the first African artist to perform at the Grammy main ceremony and the first Nigerian artist to be nominated outside of the global categories, with his hit ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World’ earning a nod for Best Melodic Rap Performance.

Additionally, his collaboration on the ‘Twala Bam’ remix by Titom & Yuppe became the first South African lead song to top the TurnTable Top 100, marking a stellar start to the year.
