Olamide announced a new project titled ‘Ikigai’ on June 26, 2024, hours after a surprise performance at Davido and Chioma’s wedding.
The 7-track EP, which means “reason for being” in Japanese, features YBNL artists Fireboy and Asake on the track ‘Uptown Disco’ and former YBNL associates Pheelz, Young Jonn, and Lil Kesh on ‘Synchro System’.
Ahead of the announcement, Olamide teased the song ‘Hello Habibi’ on his Instagram story, which is included as track 5 on the new project.
This announcement comes as a surprise since Olamide had previously indicated that his 2023 album ‘Unruly’ might be his last.Set for release on June 26, ‘Ikigai’ will be Olamide’s 10th solo project and 15th total project in his discography.
Known for consistently delivering hit records, fans are eagerly anticipating the YBNL reunion on ‘Ikigai’ as Olamide continues to solidify his legacy in Nigerian music.
