Afrobeats superstar Davido has achieved a significant milestone with his fourth album, ‘Timeless,’ surpassing 450 million streams on Spotify. Released on March 31, 2024, the album has marked a new peak in Davido’s career, setting records for the most streamed Nigerian album on Spotify in both its opening day and opening week.
One of its lead singles, ‘Unavailable’ featuring Musa Keys, has also crossed the 100 million streams mark on the platform, a first for Davido’s lead songs.
‘Timeless’ has been a hit factory, spawning popular tracks like ‘Feel,’ ‘Kante’ featuring Fave, and ‘No Competition’ featuring Asake.
The album’s success has earned Davido three nominations at the 66th Grammy Awards, with ‘Unavailable’ nominated for Best African Song Performance, ‘Feel’ for Best Global Song Performance, and ‘Timeless’ for Best Global Album.
Surpassing 450 million streams on Spotify has also propelled Davido’s overall streaming numbers, now exceeding 2 billion streams across all credits on the platform.
This achievement solidifies his position as one of the most streamed Nigerian artists on Spotify, ranking sixth behind artists like Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Rema.
Davido concluded the ‘Timeless’ era with the release of the music video for ‘Kante’ featuring Fave, following a successful year of touring and promoting the album worldwide.
