Nollywood icon Olu Jacobs turns 82 today, celebrating his birthday after false death rumors circulated on social media two weeks ago. His wife, Joke Silva, marked the occasion on Instagram with a heartfelt video compilation, expressing her love and admiration for her husband of over 35 years.

She wished him a happy birthday and a wonderful year ahead, praising him as “Sir J of life.”Joke Silva previously disclosed that Jacobs was diagnosed with Dementia with Lewy bodies several years ago.

She wrote’

“82 just like that. Agba ko ni nira l’agbara Jesu. Happy birthday and have an amazing year ahead my darling. Sir J of life @_olujacobs (loving his customised house coat.”

Despite this, Jacobs remains active in the movie industry, having appeared in over 100 films. He is renowned for roles as a respected king, wealthy father, or influential politician in movies like “The Royal Hibiscus Hotel,” “Oloibiri,” “The Dogs Of War,” “Ashanti,” and “Adesuwa.”

Jacobs also starred in popular TV shows such as “The Third Eye,” “Play For Today,” “Rumpole of the Bailey,” and “Squadron.”Olu Jacobs solidified his legendary status in 1989 alongside his wife, Joke Silva, making them a celebrated power couple in Nollywood.
