Popular Nollywood actor and comedian Babatunde Bernard Tayo, better known as Baba Tee, has finally admitted to having a brief sexual encounter with Dara, the wife of comedian and skit maker Ganiyu Morufu, also known as Lande.
His confession came during a live interview on Sunday with socialite Esabod and other TikTokers, marking a dramatic twist in an ongoing scandal. Initially, Baba Tee had strongly denied any involvement with Lande’s wife, even challenging Lande to provide concrete evidence or face legal action for defamation.
However, in an unexpected turn of events, he has now revealed the circumstances that led to the encounter, blaming alcohol and a game of ‘Truth or Dare’ for what transpired.
The controversy began when Lande publicly accused multiple men in the entertainment industry of being involved with his wife, claiming that at least 21 of them had affairs with her. Baba Tee was one of the names that surfaced in Lande’s viral interview, triggering widespread speculation.
In his initial defense, Baba Tee maintained that he had only met Dara once and that their introduction had been orchestrated by actress Marygold, who presented her as an aspiring content creator.
“I only met Lande’s wife once, and that was last year. Marygold introduced her to me as a content creator, not as Lande’s wife. I had no idea who she truly was,” Baba Tee insisted in his earlier statements. His firm denial led many to believe that Lande’s accusations were baseless, but the latest confession has cast a different light on the matter.
In his new revelation, Baba Tee explained how the encounter unfolded, suggesting that he had been deceived about Dara’s true identity. He narrated how Marygold and Dara visited his home under the pretense of discussing an upcoming event where he was to serve as the MC.
“When Marygold and Dara came to my house, she (Marygold) told me she wanted me to be an MC for her upcoming program. She never mentioned that she was bringing someone along,” Baba Tee recalled. However, things took an unexpected turn when the group decided to play ‘Truth or Dare.’
He described how Marygold removed her clothes completely and persistently dared him to engage with Dara, while Dara consumed alcohol to avoid participating in certain dares. “Rather than throwing more ‘Truth’ at me, they kept giving me ‘Dare.’ Marygold then dared Dara to let me have a ‘quick’ sexual intercourse with her, and she agreed,” he admitted.
Baba Tee maintained that his initial denial was not meant to mislead the public but stemmed from his ignorance about Dara’s marital status. “The reason I said I never slept with Lande’s wife was because Marygold never introduced her as that. To me, she was just a content creator,” he stated.
He further suggested that the entire situation was a deliberate setup designed to damage his reputation. “I won’t deny that I had a short sexual encounter with her. This is the first time I’m admitting it. But now I realize that it was a trap set by both of them to tarnish my image,” he alleged. Meanwhile Darasimi, the estranged wife of Nigerian comedian Ganiyu Kehinde, popularly known as Ijoba Lande, has broken her silence on the allegations of infidelity leveled against her. Lande had publicly accused her of engaging in multiple affairs during their marriage, painting a picture of betrayal and dishonesty.
However, in her response, Darasimi firmly denied any wrongdoing, insisting that her interaction with Nollywood actor Baba Tee was entirely innocent. She clarified that the only physical contact between them was when she briefly sat on his lap during a game of ‘Truth or Dare.’
According to her, there was no romantic or sexual involvement, and Baba Tee himself had no idea she was married until she explicitly told him.
Explaining the sequence of events that led to the controversial moment, Darasimi recounted how she ended up at Baba Tee’s house with actress Marygold. “We greeted each other, and Marygold mentioned that she wanted to drink alcohol,” she said. “There was none in the house, so Marygold and Baba Tee’s driver went out to buy it while I remained in the living room.”
She insisted that until Marygold returned, she and Baba Tee had no conversation at all, refuting any claim that there was an immediate connection between them. She maintained that her marital issues with Lande had nothing to do with infidelity and were rooted in other personal matters.
Darasimi further elaborated on how the game of ‘Truth or Dare’ started, stating that she initially hesitated but was persuaded to participate. “I was hesitant at first, but Marygold encouraged me,” she revealed. It was at this point, she claimed, that she properly introduced herself to Baba Tee as Lande’s wife, emphasizing that up until then, he had no knowledge of her marriage.
Once the game commenced, things took a turn as dares became bolder and boundaries were pushed. She admitted to consuming several shots of alcohol while others in the room smoked, setting the stage for what would later spiral into controversy.
As the game progressed, Darasimi claimed that Marygold issued a daring challenge to Baba Tee, instructing him to engage in an intimate act with her. “Marygold dared Baba Tee to do something with me,” she admitted.
According to her, Baba Tee responded by going to fetch a condom, implying that he was willing to comply with the challenge. However, she insisted that despite the situation escalating to that point, no actual intercourse took place.
