Bella Hadid’s new Adidas campaign has been pulled following backlash and criticism. The campaign, featuring Hadid as the face for a relaunched shoe from the 1972 Munich Olympics, was labeled “sick” and a “serious misjudgment.”

The 1972 Olympics is remembered for the massacre of 11 Israeli athletes and a German police officer by Palestinian terrorists from the group Black September.

Hadid, who has been vocal against Israel and supportive of Palestinian causes, faced significant backlash for her involvement.

The American Jewish Committee and Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs criticized Adidas for choosing a model with a strong anti-Israel stance for this campaign.

Critics, including the Anti-Defamation League, condemned the decision as disrespectful to the victims of the Munich massacre.

Adidas has since pulled the campaign, removed images of Hadid, and issued an apology for the unintended connections to the tragic historical event.

The company is revising the remainder of the campaign and has removed related content from its social media channels and website.
