Amazon has teamed up with hip-hop star Megan Thee Stallion to promote its 10th annual Prime Day event, scheduled for July 16 and 17. This collaboration aims to increase sales and attract a larger customer base to the online retailer’s two-day discount extravaganza.

As part of the promotion, Megan Thee Stallion released an original song, “It’s Prime Day,” along with a music video showing her shopping on Amazon for various items like a pink dog collar and fake eyelashes.

Prime Day offers exclusive deals to Amazon Prime members, who pay $14.99 per month or $139 per year for benefits such as discounted prices, free shipping, and other perks.

Although Amazon does not reveal revenue figures from these events, it frequently holds sales to lure consumers facing rising credit costs and high inflation.

This year’s Prime Day also marks the beginning of the back-to-school shopping season and is available to Prime members in 24 countries.

In addition to the July Prime Day event, Amazon has previously seen success with sales events in October and March. The partnership with Megan Thee Stallion, whose Prime Day song is exclusively available on Amazon Music, includes early deals on items from her new tour merchandise collection.

This initiative is expected to draw more shoppers and boost Amazon’s sales during the highly anticipated discount event.
