American rapper and former 1017 Records artist, Enchanting, has died at the age of 26. Enchanting, whose real name was Channing Nicole Larry, was transferred to the ICU after reportedly suffering cardiac arrest due to an overdose.
Her death was confirmed on Tuesday by her sister, Kay Jay, who shared a heartfelt post on X expressing her love for Enchanting.
A representative from Enchanting’s management team told The Shade Room that Enchanting had been trying to get clean, staying at the representative’s house for the last four days.
Despite her efforts, she could not overcome her struggles. Enchanting was signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 label in 2020 and contributed to three compilation albums before leaving the label last year.
Gucci Mane mourned her passing on Instagram, calling her a “true star.”Enchanting gained recognition with her debut mixtape “Love & Drugs” and released her most recent project, “No Luv,” under the 1017 label in 2022.
She also contributed the song “He Can’t Reach” to the soundtrack for HBO’s “Rap Sh!t Season 2” via Issa Rae’s Raedio imprint.
