Veteran Amitabh Bachchan’s is set to act as Ashwatthama Kalki 2898 AD. Amitabh also known as Big B in the industry, much-anticipated role in Nag Ashwin’s futuristic epic, “Kalki 2898 AD,” has been generating buzz for months. Despite featuring stars like Deepika Padukone and Prabhas in lead roles, Bachchan’s character is deemed pivotal.

Recently, the makers unveiled a new poster of Bachchan, further fueling excitement. During a live IPL match, a promo for the film was also revealed, shedding light on Bachchan’s character as Ashwatthama.

In the promo, Bachchan’s character is introduced through a dialogue with a child questioning his immortality, to which Bachchan responds, revealing his full look and identity as Ashwatthama, son of Dronacharya.

With a staggering budget of Rs 600 crore, “Kalki 2898 AD” is touted as India’s most expensive film to date. Directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by Vyjatanthi Movies, the movie stars Prabhas and Deepika Padukone in lead roles, marking their first collaboration.

In addition to the lead cast, Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani play significant roles in the film. Scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on May 9, 2024, “Kalki 2898 AD” also marks the third collaboration between Bachchan and Padukone, following their successful outings in “Piku” and “Aarakshan.”

They are set to reunite for the Hindi adaptation of Robert De Niro’s “The Intern,” promising an exciting journey ahead for fans of Indian cinema.
