Asake is building excitement for his upcoming album, “Lungu Boy,” with the release of its fifth track, “Active,” featuring American rapper Travis Scott and produced by Sarz and Mike Dean.
The music video, directed by Edgar Esteves, Joshua Valle, and Nikita Vilchinski, combines footage of Asake’s dynamic stage performances with scenes of him enjoying time with Travis Scott.
“Active” is an energetic anthem celebrating success, confidence, and an active lifestyle.The tracklist for “Lungu Boy” has been revealed, featuring collaborations with Wizkid, Central Cee, Stormzy, and Ludmina. Earlier in 2024, Asake released the tracks “Only Me” and “Wave,” the latter featuring Central Cee and included on the new album.
The release of “Lungu Boy” precedes Asake’s tour, which will include performances at the O2 Arena, where he previously headlined in 2023, and Madison Square Garden, making him the fourth Nigerian artist to headline this iconic venue.”Lungu Boy” will be Asake’s third album in three years, marking a prolific period for the superstar.
Since his debut, Asake has seen a steady rise in fame, with his first album, “Mr. Money With The Vibes,” winning Album of the Year at the 2023 Headies Awards.
His second album, “Work of Art,” featured the hit single “Lonely At The Top,” which set a record for the longest-charting song on the TurnTable Top 100.
