The Nollywood film “Muri and Ko” has climbed from sixth to second place at the Nigerian box office, grossing a total of ₦50.1 million as of June 22, 2024, according to the Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN).
The film, which tells the story of a thief named Muri who steals a car and discovers a child inside, made ₦41.5 million in the past week, surpassing “Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti” as the top-grossing Nollywood film for three consecutive weeks.
“Bad Boys: Ride or Die,” a Hollywood film, maintained its number one spot for the third week in a row, grossing ₦100.8 million during the same period and bringing its total to ₦216.5 million.
Meanwhile, “Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti” dropped to the fourth spot with weekly earnings of ₦15 million and a cumulative total of ₦156.5 million.
The action thriller “Criminal” fell from fourth to sixth place, earning ₦8.2 million for a total gross of ₦45.7 million.
