Dabney Coleman, known for his roles in “Boardwalk Empire” and “9 to 5,” has died at the age of 92. Tributes from fellow actors such as Lily Tomlin, Morgan Fairchild, and Ben Stiller have honored the “one-of-a-kind” actor.

Coleman was renowned for his portrayals of comedic villains and mean-spirited bosses in films like “Tootsie” and as Commodore Louis Kaestner in “Boardwalk Empire.”

Lily Tomlin shared her admiration for Coleman, recalling their time together on “9 to 5,” and Morgan Fairchild expressed her sorrow, reminiscing about their time together in the 1980s. Ben Stiller praised Coleman for defining an archetype as a character actor.

Coleman passed away peacefully at his Santa Monica home, as confirmed by his daughter. She described him as a man with a curious mind, generous heart, and a passionate, humorous spirit.

Coleman’s career spanned decades, beginning in the 1960s and gaining significant recognition in 1976 with his role in “Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman.” His notable film roles included parts in “WarGames,” “You’ve Got Mail,” and “The Towering Inferno.” He won a Golden Globe for “The Slap Maxwell Story” and an Emmy for “Sworn to Silence.”

Coleman also received accolades as part of the “Boardwalk Empire” cast and was nominated for Emmy and Golden Globe awards for “Buffalo Bill.”
