Grammy-winning Nigerian superstar Burna Boy has added another milestone to his impressive list of achievements with a new Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certification.

The Afrobeats giant continues to solidify his place as one of Africa’s most successful global artists, further expanding his dominance on the international music scene.

According to Chart Data, Burna Boy’s song Alone, which was featured on the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack, has now surpassed 500,000 units in sales in the United States, officially earning an RIAA Gold certification.

The track, which was released as part of the movie’s highly curated soundtrack, stood out as one of the project’s most beloved songs, joining other contributions from Nigerian superstars like Rema and Fireboy DML.

The success of Alone is hardly surprising, given its global impact. The song was nominated for Best Global Music Performance at the 2023 Grammy Awards, a testament to its strong international reception.

Additionally, the track has amassed an astonishing 164 million streams on Spotify, making it the second most streamed song from the soundtrack, trailing only behind Rihanna’s Lift Me Up, which was a tribute to the late Black Panther actor, Chadwick Boseman.

With this latest achievement, Alone becomes Burna Boy’s sixth RIAA certification and his fourth solo plaque. The recognition further cements his status as one of the leading figures in Afrobeats, a genre that has taken the global music industry by storm.

Burna Boy’s ability to seamlessly blend African rhythms with contemporary global sounds continues to earn him accolades and a growing fan base worldwide.

As the 10-time Grammy nominee prepares for an eventful 2025, anticipation is already building around his forthcoming eighth studio album, No Sign of Weakness. The album is expected to be another groundbreaking release in his illustrious career.

With Burna Boy’s track record of delivering chart-topping projects, fans and critics alike are eager to see what he has in store.

Ahead of the album’s release, Burna Boy has already dropped two singles that have set the tone for what’s to come. The first, Higher, earned a nomination for Best African Song Performance at the 67th Grammy Awards, highlighting its widespread acclaim.

The second, Bundle By Bundle, was released in December 2024, further adding to the excitement surrounding his upcoming project.

In another historic feat, Burna Boy recently became the first artist to grace the cover of Billboard France Magazine. During his feature interview, he spoke about the global rise of Nigerian music and his role as one of its most influential pioneers.

As he continues to break barriers, Burna Boy remains the first Nigerian artist to have three albums surpass 500 million Spotify streams—an achievement that solidifies his dominance in the streaming era. With No Sign of Weakness on the horizon, all eyes are on Burna Boy as he looks to extend his legacy in 2025.
