Burna Boy Makes History as First African Artist to Sell Out London Stadium Concert

Nigerian musician Burna Boy, known as the African Giant, has made history by becoming the first African artist to sell out London Stadium twice. His recent show on June 29, 2024, follows a previous sell-out in June 2023 at the 80,000-capacity venue.
This achievement cements Burna Boy as the world’s biggest touring African artist.In an interview with London Stadium press, Burna Boy expressed his pride in this accomplishment, stating that the venue has become his “fairground.”
He emphasized the importance of dreaming big regardless of one’s origins, hoping his success would inspire others. He described the event as legendary and historical, inviting fans to share in the moment.
Ropo Akin, CEO of Whytelion, reflected on Burna Boy’s journey, noting the artist’s growth since partnering with Whytelion in 2014. Akin praised Burna Boy’s vision and talent, highlighting the close bond developed over the years.
The show also featured performances by fellow Nigerian artists Shallipopi, Omah Lay, and Seyi Vibez. Beyond London, Burna Boy has sold out stadiums in major cities worldwide, including New York City, Canada, Paris, and Arnhem.
