Busta Rhymes and Jason Derulo have been confirmed as the replacement headline acts for the DStv Delicious Festival in Johannesburg this weekend, following the withdrawal of Janet Jackson.

Janet canceled her performance after the death of her brother, Tito Jackson, on September 25. The festival organizers expressed their condolences to Janet and her family and assured fans that they have worked tirelessly to maintain a top-notch experience for attendees despite the sudden change in the lineup.

Busta Rhymes and Jason Derulo will perform at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit on Saturday, September 21. The organizers highlighted that with these two global stars set to perform, fans can expect high-energy performances that will captivate the audience.

Rhymes, a 12-time Grammy-nominated artist, is known for his dynamic hits like “Woo Hah!! Got You All in Check” and “Break Ya Neck.”

He has collaborated with icons such as Missy Elliott and Mariah Carey. Derulo, an international pop sensation, has sold over 200 million records globally and is celebrated for hits like “Talk Dirty,” “Wiggle,” and “Savage Love.”

On Sunday, September 22, the festival will be headlined by award-winning music superstar Jill Scott. The two-day event will also feature a strong lineup of local South African artists including Thandiswa Mazwai, Sjava, Soweto Gospel Choir, Boom Shaka, Khuli Chana, Toss, OkMalumkoolkat, Morafe, and Cassper Nyovest.

Music legends Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Sipho Hotstix Mabuse, and Loyiso Bala are also scheduled to perform, ensuring a diverse mix of musical genres and performances that will appeal to a wide audience.

The festival will pay tribute to iconic South African artists with special musical tributes to late stars like Kiernan “AKA” Forbes, HHP, Lebo Mathosa, Mandoza, Pro Kid, Johnny Clegg, and Riky Rick.

Additionally, the Channel O Dance Stage, in collaboration with Johnnie Walker Blonde, will host top South African DJs and performers such as DBN Gogo, Kabza De Small, PH, and Shimza.

Festival-goers can look forward to non-stop music and dance, with performances by Reason, Nkosazana Daughter, and Zee Nxumalo adding to the excitement.

This year’s festival will also celebrate South Africa’s musical heritage through the “30 Years of Creative Freedom Tribute Show,” presented by the Department of Sport, Arts, and Culture.

This special presentation will honor the contributions of South African musicians whose work has significantly influenced the country’s cultural landscape.

Attendees will have the opportunity to reflect on the rich history of South African music and its impact on the nation and beyond.

Beyond the music, the festival promises a culinary delight for food lovers at the Proudly South African Delicious Mile. A variety of gourmet offerings will be available from both local and international food trucks and stalls, including favorites like DimsumFest, Tiger’s Milk, Daruma by Oskido, Buns & Bowls, La Mama, and The Gourmet Shrine. Tickets for general admission are priced at R1,050, with premium lounge options starting at R3,250 for the Savanna Delicious Lounge, which is already sold out for Saturday but still available for Sunday.

For those seeking a more exclusive experience, the all-inclusive Injabulo Too Lounge on The VIP Terrace is available for R8,350. Despite concerns about ticket changes following the lineup adjustments, the organizers have assured that they are working hard to ensure a smooth experience for all attendees.

The festival’s official ticketing partner, Ticketmaster, is managing all ticket-related inquiries. As per their purchase policy, refunds are not available for events that proceed as scheduled.

However, festival-goers are encouraged to review the policy for specific conditions that may apply. Those who have exchanged their Saturday tickets for Sunday tickets should note that they cannot switch back to Saturday if they change their minds.
