Chima Udoye has been crowned the winner of the ninth season of Nigerian Idol, following a competitive finale held on Sunday, July 14, 2024. The finale featured intense performances, starting with the top 10 contestants performing John Legend’s “Glory.”

The episode included performances by past winners, including Progress from Season 7 and Victory Gbakara from Season 8, along with guest performances from artists Chike and Simi.Chima, known for his charisma and vocal skills, impressed judges 9ice, Omawumi, and Ric Hassani throughout the season.

Omawumi noted during the finale that Chima’s journey on the show was a testament to his extraordinary talent and potential beyond the competition.Specializing in jazz and soul music, Chima aimed to inspire others with his talent from the start of the show.

After 12 weeks of competition, his efforts were rewarded as he was crowned the winner. Dr. Busola Tejumola, Executive Head, Content & Channels, West Africa, MultiChoice, praised Chima for his resilience and success.
