CJ Snare, the lead vocalist of FireHouse, has passed away at 64 after battling stage IV colon cancer. Despite his diagnosis in 2020, he remained optimistic, even planning to rejoin FireHouse for their summer tour in 2024 after undergoing abdominal surgery.
His final Instagram post on March 27 reflected his resilience and hopefulness. However, his daughter, Heather, confirmed his death to TMZ, attributing it to cancer-related cardiac arrest.
Born in Washington, DC, CJ co-founded FireHouse in 1987 and contributed significantly to the band’s success, penning many of their hits such as ‘Don’t Treat Me Bad’ and ‘Love of a Lifetime’. The band’s debut album achieved double platinum status in the US, and CJ’s talents extended beyond vocals to include keyboard playing on all seven FireHouse albums.
His passing left both the band and fans devastated, with FireHouse expressing their sorrow on Facebook and fellow musicians like Jack Blades from Night Ranger mourning his loss on Twitter. Fans also shared their grief and memories on CJ’s final Instagram post, remembering him fondly and honoring his legacy.
