Nigerian music sensation Davido is set to take center stage as one of the headliners at the 2025 Summerjam Festival, alongside Jamaican reggae legend Vybz Kartel.

The highly anticipated event, scheduled to take place from June 4 to June 6 in Germany, promises to be a grand showcase of global talent. Davido’s addition to the lineup marks another major milestone in his illustrious career, as he follows in the footsteps of fellow Nigerian star Burna Boy, who headlined the festival the previous year.

Fans from all over the world are expected to gather in Germany for a celebration of reggae, dancehall, and Afrobeats.

The festival lineup also boasts an exciting array of reggae and dancehall heavyweights, including Jamaican icons Beenie Man and Morgan Heritage. These celebrated acts, known for their contributions to Caribbean music, will bring their signature sounds to the festival, making it a melting pot of musical cultures.

With Afrobeats and reggae continuing to intertwine on the global stage, Davido’s presence at Summerjam underscores the genre’s growing influence and its seamless blend with other sounds from around the world.

As he gears up for this major performance, Davido is also having an eventful start to 2025. The five-time Grammy nominee recently announced his next single, Be There Still, set for release on March 15.

According to the superstar, this will be his final single before the much-anticipated release of his upcoming album, 5ive. With a total of 17 tracks, the album mirrors the track count of all his previous four projects, a move that has piqued curiosity among fans.

So far, Davido has already given listeners a taste of what’s to come with two hit singles: Awuke, featuring Jamaican dancehall star YG Marley, and Funds, a collaboration with Chike and Odumodublvck. These songs have been met with excitement, showcasing Davido’s ability to blend different sounds while staying true to his signature style.

As anticipation builds, fans are eager to see how 5ive will compare to his previous records and whether it will continue his streak of industry-defining hits.

In a heartfelt social media post announcing his upcoming project, Davido described 5ive as an album that comes “straight from the heart.” The album is also expected to include a collaboration with Nigerian sensation Omah Lay, who recently shared that the song they worked on is a “perfect partnership.”

Additionally, Adekunle Gold has hinted at a guest appearance on the project, further adding to the excitement surrounding the release. Given the massive success of his last album, Timeless, expectations are high for 5ive to set new records and further cement Davido’s legacy as one of Africa’s biggest musical exports.

Before taking the stage at Summerjam, Davido will be looking to add more accolades to his name at the upcoming 17th Headies Awards, where he has been nominated in six categories, including the prestigious Artist of the Year award.

With a packed schedule ahead, 2025 is shaping up to be another landmark year for the Afrobeats star. From new music to major performances, Davido continues to push boundaries and solidify his place as a global force in the music industry.
