The Nigerian music scene continues to make waves globally, as Davido, Burna Boy, Tems, and Wizkid have all received nominations at the prestigious 2025 National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Image Awards.
These stars, celebrated for their remarkable contributions to contemporary music, join a lineup of artists being recognized for their excellence in various categories. Their nominations affirm the growing influence of Nigerian artists on the global stage, showcasing the country’s vibrant culture and musical ingenuity.
Burna Boy earned a nomination in the category of Outstanding Duo, Group, or Collaboration (Contemporary) for his guest appearance on Usher’s hit track “Coming Home.”
This collaboration, which blends Burna Boy’s Afrobeat rhythms with Usher’s soulful style, has been widely praised for its emotional depth and international appeal. Burna Boy’s inclusion in this category underscores his ability to seamlessly merge African sounds with global music trends.
Wizkid is also a strong contender this year, receiving two nominations. His single “Piece of My Heart,” featuring Brent Faiyaz, earned a nod in the Outstanding Duo, Group, or Collaboration category, while also securing a nomination for Best International Song.

Tems and Davido have also been recognized in the Best International Song category. Tems received her nomination for “Love Me Jeje,” a track from her debut album Born In The Wild, which has been celebrated for its introspective lyrics and soulful delivery.
