Afrobeats megastar Davido is gearing up for what promises to be a landmark moment in global music collaboration. In a recent appearance on The Ebro Show, the Nigerian singer confirmed that he will be embarking on a joint tour with American R&B superstar Chris Brown.
The duo, whose musical chemistry has already birthed several hits, is taking things to the next level by also releasing a collaborative EP in 2026. “We can put out two albums right now,” Davido revealed with a grin, emphasizing that they’ve recorded more than 20 tracks together. “The music is there. We just waiting on the right time.”
According to Davido, the reason the joint EP and tour have been delayed is out of respect for Chris Brown’s own big year. “2025 has been such a major one for him,” he explained.
“I didn’t want to drop something that would overshadow his own moment. He’s my brother. I wanted him to enjoy his win, his Grammy. We still dey on the same wavelength though.”
This display of brotherhood and strategic timing underscores the respect and admiration both artists have for each other’s careers.
The tour, as Davido described, will span two continents. “The plan is to do a double continent tour. A tour of Africa and Europe with the joint album,” he said, outlining their intention to bring the music to fans across the globe.
He also confirmed his participation in Chris Brown’s Breezy Bowl tour, which will see the two sharing more than just studio time but also the stage.
Fans can expect energetic performances and memorable cross-genre moments from two of the world’s biggest performers.
Davido’s confirmation on The Ebro Show reaffirms an earlier teaser he gave during a Twitch livestream with fellow Nigerian artist Cruel Santino.
During the stream, he had hinted at Chris Brown’s involvement in his newly released fifth studio album, 5ive, further solidifying the long-standing collaborative bond between the two.
Their working relationship dates back to the global hit “Blow My Mind,” released in 2019 on Davido’s sophomore album A Good Time. That single marked the beginning of a prolific partnership that fans have come to cherish.
Their musical synergy continued with “Lower Body” off Chris Brown’s Indigo album, and the massive viral hit “Under the Influence,” co-written by Davido and Nigerian producer KDDO.
In 2020, they joined forces again on “Shopping Spree,” a smooth track off Davido’s third album A Better Time, which also featured Young Thug.
In 2022, Davido returned the favor by featuring on Chris Brown’s sultry track “Nobody Has To Know,” further strengthening the musical bridge between Afrobeats and R&B.
In 2023, the pair struck gold once more with the release of “Sensational,” a high-energy track from Chris Brown’s album 11:11, featuring Nigerian rising star Lojay
The track earned all three artists their first Billboard Hot 100 entry and culminated in a Grammy nomination for Best African Music Performance at the 67th Grammy Awards.
“We’ve been making magic,” Davido said. “It’s not just music. It’s cultural exchange, and I’m proud of what we’ve done.”
Reflecting on the tough times he faced, Davido opened up about the difficult hiatus he took following a deeply personal loss in 2022.
“I was seeing tweets like ‘Damn, it’s so quiet out here. David, please come back,’” he shared. “Even people who didn’t like me were like, ‘Please come back, we need to diss you!’ That’s when I knew the space wasn’t the same without me.”
The candid moment highlighted how much his presence has impacted the industry and how fans deeply missed him during his absence.
Davido’s emotional comeback began with a powerful performance at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, one of his first public appearances after the hiatus.
The performance marked a turning point, leading up to the release of Timeless, his critically acclaimed album that featured hit singles like “Unavailable” and “Feel.”
The album, which went on to earn a Grammy nomination, proved that Davido had returned stronger, more inspired, and more determined than ever before.
Now, Davido is riding high off the release of his fifth album 5ive, which dropped on April 18, 2025. The 17-track body of work features guest appearances from global stars including Victoria Monét, Shenseea, Tayc, and French singer Dadju.
The project showcases Davido’s versatility and solidifies his place as a world-class artist bridging continents and cultures.
In support of the album, he is preparing for his 5 Alive world tour, which promises to be one of the biggest tours of his career.
Among the highlights of the tour is a landmark concert at the 60,000-capacity Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
The historic show will see Davido headline alongside American hip-hop legend 50 Cent and Grammy-winning singer Mary J. Blige.
Meanwhile, Davido continues to break records—his hit “With You” featuring Omah Lay recently debuted at No. 1 on the TurnTable Top 100, making him the first artist to secure No. 1 singles in six consecutive years.
With a global tour, joint EP with Chris Brown, and a wave of new hits, 2025 is shaping up to be Davido’s most powerful year yet.
