About the Project
We’re gearing up for a high-profile “mega movie” production set entirely in Lagos, blending cutting-edge visual storytelling with authentic local flavor. Under the leadership of an experienced cinematographer, you’ll help bring epic scenes and intimate moments to life on the big screen.Key Responsibilities
- Camera Operation: Set up, operate, and troubleshoot professional cinema cameras (ARRI Alexa, RED, Sony Venice, etc.) on set.
- Shot Execution: Frame and execute camera movements (dollies, handheld, Steadicam, cranes) per shot list and cinematographer’s vision.
- Technical Support: Assist in rigging, focus pulling, lens changes, monitor setup, and maintaining camera accessories.
- Equipment Maintenance: Conduct daily check-outs and check-ins of camera kits; perform basic cleaning and minor repairs.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the cinematographer, ACs, grips, gaffers, and production team to ensure efficient workflow.
- Continuity & Documentation: Log camera reports, lens metadata, and footage notes; ensure color/format consistency.
- On-Set Adaptability: Adjust quickly to changes in lighting, weather, shooting schedules, and location constraints.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 3 years as a camera operator or assistant camera on feature films, TV dramas, or high-end commercials.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Deep working knowledge of cinema cameras (ARRI, RED, Sony) and lens systems (Primes, Zooms).
- Familiarity with camera stabilization rigs (Steadicam, gimbals) and remote heads.
- Solid understanding of digital workflows, codecs, and media management.
- Creative Eye: Strong sense of composition, movement, and visual storytelling.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to handle heavy gear and work long hours on diverse locations.
- Team Player: Excellent communication skills; ability to take direction and collaborate under pressure.
- Legal & Logistical:
- Valid Nigerian work authorization or ability to secure necessary permits.
- Willingness to travel within Lagos State and occasional weekend shoots.
- Education: Film or cinematography diploma/degree preferred but not mandatory with sufficient experience.
