This prestigious honor is awarded by the United Nations to individuals who have made significant contributions to promoting peace and good governance globally.

Ferrari, who relocated to the United States in 2019, shared her excitement about receiving the award, noting that it highlights her charitable and activist efforts.

In an interview conducted via WhatsApp with Potpourri, Ferrari discussed her involvement in charity work, attributing much of her success to the influence of her aunt.

Her aunt is actively involved in helping people with immigration issues, and Ferrari has joined her in numerous charitable initiatives since moving to the US.

She emphasized that this recognition is not just for her individual efforts but also for the collective work of those supporting marginalized communities, particularly in the realm of immigration and human rights.

This award is part of the UN General Assembly’s commitment to the International Decade for Peace and Non-Violence (2001-2011) and aligns with UNESCO’s Culture of Peace initiatives.

These programs emphasize the importance of promoting peace through social development, human rights advocacy, and sustainable governance.
