Charlie Colin, a founding member of the 90s pop rock band Train, has died after slipping in a shower while house-sitting for a friend in Brussels, Belgium. The 58-year-old musician’s death was confirmed by his mother, although the exact timing of the incident remains unclear.

His sister also confirmed his passing to Variety.Train, formed in San Francisco in 1993, paid tribute to Colin on Instagram, praising his unique bass playing and guitar work that helped the band gain recognition.

They described him as the sweetest and most charming person, highlighting his significant contributions to their early success with hits like “Drops of Jupiter” and “Marry Me.”

Despite their efforts to keep him close, Colin had his own vision, and his legacy as a legend endures.

Colin was forced to leave the band in 2003 due to substance abuse issues. Following his departure, Train recorded their most famous hit, “Hey, Soul Sister,” in 2009.

The band expressed their heartfelt condolences and admiration for Colin, acknowledging his lasting impact on their music and lives.
