Renowned media personality Frank Edoho has weighed in on the heated dispute between gospel singer Mercy Chinwo and her former manager, EazyTee Concepts, urging Nigerians to base their opinions on facts rather than emotions.
In a candid Instagram post on March 20, 2025, Edoho addressed the ongoing controversy, highlighting a troubling pattern where many people form opinions based on narratives rather than verifiable evidence. He stressed that while emotions run high in such disputes, it is crucial to rely on facts before making judgments.
According to him, contrary to popular belief, Chinwo had not avoided financial scrutiny, as some had claimed, but had actually undergone two separate audits. “Non-Nigerians are of the opinion that Nigerians always stick to narratives instead of facts,” Edoho stated. “I found this to be a little bit true in the case of Mercy Chinwo and EazyTee Concepts, where everyone is using emotion instead of facts and people are going off. I decided to find facts that have not seen the light of day.”
Edoho went on to clarify the claims surrounding Chinwo’s alleged refusal to participate in an audit, a key issue in the dispute. Many had accused the gospel singer of evading financial accountability, but Edoho dismissed these accusations, revealing that she had already subjected her finances to review.
“The first thing is, why is Mercy Chinwo avoiding an audit? She is not. As a matter of fact, two audits have been done,” he explained. He elaborated that an initial meeting was held where an independent company was tasked with conducting the audit, but for reasons unknown, the firm later withdrew from the process.
However, this did not stop further investigations, and a second audit was carried out, which provided clear insights into the financial dealings between Chinwo and EazyTee Concepts. Edoho’s revelation countered the misinformation that had been circulating, setting the record straight about the singer’s willingness to undergo scrutiny.
Beyond the audit controversy, Edoho also addressed allegations that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had mistreated or coerced EazyTee during their investigation. Some individuals had claimed that the former manager was being unfairly pressured by the anti-corruption agency.
Edoho firmly debunked these claims, stating that the EFCC’s involvement was purely procedural and aimed at resolving the financial dispute transparently. “It was at the point where Mercy Chinwo’s team decided to take the matter to the EFCC, and they invited EazyTee to the office. This was when the second audit was done, and it was found that he owed her some money that he had to pay,” Edoho disclosed.
His explanation reinforced that the legal process had been followed correctly, without any force or manipulation, as some had alleged.
Edoho further revealed that EazyTee had already begun repaying the money he owed to Chinwo in installments, but had yet to complete the payments. This, he noted, directly contradicted the claims that the EFCC had unjustly seized money from EazyTee’s account or subjected him to any form of torture.
“They didn’t coerce him like some people think,” he clarified. “They let him go, and he has two installments of the money he owed, which he hasn’t completed yet. Some people are even saying that the EFCC is torturing him or taking money from his account. Let us stop using our feelings to talk about matters.”
Edoho’s firm stance emphasized the importance of sticking to verified facts instead of fueling rumors that only serve to mislead the public.
Concluding his statement, Edoho made it clear that he prefers to speak on issues only when he has gathered substantial evidence, rather than engaging in baseless speculation. He urged Nigerians to adopt a similar approach, especially in high-profile disputes where misinformation spreads easily.
“I refrain from talking about matters until I see facts,” he declared. His call for a more fact-based discussion resonated with many who had been following the case, reminding them of the dangers of jumping to conclusions without proper verification.
As the controversy continues to unfold, Edoho’s perspective has added a new layer of clarity, pushing the conversation towards truth rather than emotional bias.
