Nollywood actor and filmmaker Funke Akindele, has announced the upcoming premiere of her film “Everybody Loves Jenifa” in December. Akindele took to Instagram to share the news, hinting at a return of the beloved character Jenifa from her popular franchise.
Funke wrote:

The Jenifa franchise, which originated with the sitcom “Jenifa’s Diary” in 2015, has been a significant presence in Nigerian television. Starring Akindele in the titular role, the series has featured a talented ensemble cast and garnered widespread acclaim.
Additionally, the franchise has expanded with spin-offs and sequels such as “Aiyetoro Town” and “Jenifa on Lockdown.” Akindele’s portrayal of Jenifa in the first film of the franchise earned her critical acclaim and several award nominations, including a win for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards.
