Actresses Funke Akindele, Shaffy Bello and other No have emerged as the top-grossing actresses of 2023. Funke Akindele led the list, grossing N749 million from her movie roles, with her film “A Tribe Called Judah” alone earning over N1 billion.
She was followed by Shaffy Bello, who grossed N216 million, and Toyin Abraham, who earned N144 million.
Other top earners included Omowunmi Dada (N128 million), Mercy Aigbe (N126 million), Bimbo Ademoye (N122 million), Ireti Doyle (N121 million), Nancy Isime (N94 million), Sandra Okunzuwa (N64 million), and Sophie Alakija (N57 million).
The ranking was based on their roles as lead actresses or key supporting actresses in films released throughout 2023. Funke Akindele expressed her gratitude for this achievement, thanking her fans and the dedicated crew behind her films.
She wrote: . “None of this would be possible without the love and enthusiasm of my incredible fans, and the dedication and expertise of the crew who worked on my films.”
Similarly, Shaffy Bello attributed her success to divine guidance and expressed her gratitude for her accomplishments.
“I am nothing without my Source. The one who Guides me, Provides, Shield and make a way for me,” she wrote.
