Hollywood actor Michael Madsen was arrested in California on a domestic violence charge after the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department received a call from a woman who claimed her husband pushed her and locked her out of the house.
Madsen, known for his roles in Quentin Tarantino’s films such as Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill, and The Hateful Eight, was detained in Malibu on the misdemeanor charge, which is a criminal offense in the U.S. punishable by less than 12 months in jail. He was later released from custody after posting a $20,000 bail.
A representative for the 66-year-old actor stated that the incident was a disagreement between Madsen and his wife, DeAnna, and expressed hope for a positive resolution for both parties.
The couple has been married for 28 years, and this incident marks a significant personal challenge in their long-standing relationship. Madsen’s arrest brings renewed attention to issues of domestic conflict, particularly among high-profile individuals.
Michael Madsen has had a distinguished acting career, with notable roles in films like the Free Willy series, Thelma & Louise, Donnie Brasco, and the James Bond movie Die Another Day. Despite his professional achievements, Madsen’s personal life has been marked by several legal troubles.
In 2019, he was jailed for four days and sentenced to five years’ probation after pleading guilty to a drink-driving charge following an incident where he crashed his SUV into a pole.
The latest arrest adds to the challenges faced by Madsen, whose previous run-ins with the law, including the 2019 drink-driving incident, have cast a shadow over his career.
As Madsen and his wife navigate this current situation, it remains to be seen how it will impact his personal life and future in Hollywood.
