Bolanle Austen-Peters’ latest film, House of Ga’a, has topped the Netflix film chart in Nigeria since its release on July 26. The epic movie, set in the ancient 18th century Yoruba history, tells the gripping tale of a power-hungry political figure, Ga’a, who orchestrates a brutal betrayal within the Oyo Empire.

Its star-studded cast and compelling storyline have captivated audiences, maintaining its top position on the chart.

The Nigerian News Agency reports that House of Ga’a has consistently held the number one spot since its release.

Following closely, Savi, an Indian movie about a woman’s determination to break her husband out of prison, ranks second, and The Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior is third.

Non Negotiable, a thriller about a hostage negotiator tasked with rescuing the Mexican president and his wife, ranks fourth, while Maharaja, an Indian action movie, and the classic Titanic hold the fifth and sixth spots respectively.

Other films in the top ten include the action movies Shina, Chhota Bheem and the Curse of Damyaan, and Trigger Warning, occupying the seventh, eighth, and ninth positions. Completing the top ten is Mr and Mrs Mahi, a sports drama.

These diverse films reflect a wide range of genres and international influences resonating with Nigerian viewers on Netflix.
