Actress Ini Edo has expressed heartfelt gratitude to friends, family, colleagues, and supporters who stood by her during her father’s burial.

Her late father, Elder Edo Jonathan Ekim, was laid to rest last Friday in their hometown in Akwa Ibom State. The actress, still reflecting on the loss, took to Instagram to appreciate everyone who contributed to making the funeral a befitting farewell for her beloved father. She described him as a devout man, full of love for life, and someone whose presence was a blessing to those around him.

In her message, Ini Edo extended a special appreciation to the people and government of Akwa Ibom State for their kindness and overwhelming support during this challenging time. She acknowledged Governor Umo Eno and the Deputy Governor, Akon Eyakenyi, for their generosity and presence at the funeral.

“To the glory of God, we gave our father a funeral befitting for a man after God’s heart, a lover of life, and the heart of the party,” she wrote. “A special thank you to the good people and Government of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency Gov Umo Eno and our Amiable Deputy Governor, Her Excellency Akon Eyakenyi. For your support and show of love. My family and I are forever grateful.”

The actress also recognized the immediate past governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel, and his family for their unwavering support. She shared how much their presence meant to her and her family, especially during such a difficult period.

“To my immediate past Governor, His Excellency Udom Emmanuel, my own uncle, and his entire family, words cannot express how elated we are that you graced us with your esteemed presence and support throughout this trying time. May God continue to bless and preserve you and your entire household,” she wrote.

Ini Edo further extended gratitude to her colleagues in the entertainment industry, who took time out of their busy schedules to be there for her. She acknowledged the financial and economic hardships that many are facing but was deeply moved by the effort they made to support her.

“To my adorable colleagues and friends, y’all made me so proud and emotional. Considering the present state of the economy and your very busy schedules, y’all showed up and out for me,” she stated. “Life feels a little easier and a lot brighter with friends like you. Thank you for always showing up, for standing by me, and for being the kind of people I can always count on. I don’t take it for granted.”

Reflecting on her family’s journey since her father’s passing in December, the actress spoke about the immense challenges they have faced—spiritually, physically, and financially. However, she credited their strong upbringing and shared values for keeping them resilient and united throughout the ordeal.

“Since Daddy passed in December, we have been challenged spiritually, physically, and financially. I am grateful for the upbringing of love, resilience, fear of God, and togetherness instilled in us by our parents that kept us going and level-headed through it all,” she shared.

“I am so proud of us, and I am sure we made Daddy proud. I pray we all live in good health, and may our children have the privilege of doing the same for us when the time is right.”

In an emotional closing, Ini Edo turned her gratitude to God, recognizing His presence in her life through every trial. She expressed her unwavering faith and commitment to serving Him, acknowledging Him as her provider and comforter.

“I just want to say, God, who are we that you are mindful of us?” she wrote. “My ever-present help, my provider, my comforter, the lifter of my head, my El Roi—the God who sees me. I and my household will serve you forever.”

The actress concluded her message with a deep expression of love and appreciation for everyone who reached out, prayed, or stood by her in any way. She assured her friends and followers that their kindness would never be forgotten.

“This daughter of yours is so grateful,” she said, addressing God. “I love you deeply, guys. I really do. THANK YOU.”

Ini Edo’s heartfelt words not only honored her late father but also highlighted the strength of family, friendship, and faith in difficult times.
