Jack Black has canceled Tenacious D’s tour after bandmate Kyle Gass made controversial remarks about former President Donald Trump. During a performance in Sydney, Australia, Gass responded to a birthday wish by saying, “don’t miss Trump next time,” referencing a recent shooting at a Trump rally.

The comment, which circulated widely on social media, prompted Black to announce the suspension of the tour and all future creative plans for the duo, emphasizing his opposition to hate speech and political violence.

In a statement on Instagram, Black expressed his shock and disapproval of Gass’s remarks, stating that he could not continue the tour in good conscience.

He thanked fans for their support and understanding during this unexpected hiatus. Following Black’s statement, Gass issued an apology on Instagram, acknowledging his mistake and condemning violence of any kind. He expressed deep regret for his poor judgment and the inappropriate nature of his comment.

Tenacious D was scheduled to continue their Spicy Meatball Tour in Australia and New Zealand and had planned a US tour in October. The band, formed by Black and Gass in 1994, has postponed all upcoming performances and creative projects in light of the incident.
