Nigerian content creator Jarvis, celebrated for her remarkable AI and non-playable character (NPC) impressions, recently shared her feelings about the moment her boyfriend, Pellar, publicly proposed to her.
During an appearance on The Honest Bunch Podcast, Jarvis opened up about her initial reaction, revealing a deeply personal and unexpected side to the viral moment. “Actually, I didn’t expect something like that there,” she began, recounting the whirlwind of emotions she experienced.
“The first thing that went through my mind was no, and the no was very loud in my head. I had to battle myself to come to a conclusion.” Her candidness offered fans a glimpse into the complex emotions behind the public spectacle.
In the now-viral proposal clip, Jarvis appeared visibly shocked as Pellar went down on one knee at a restaurant, surrounded by family and friends. Interestingly, Jarvis also clarified a lingering misconception about the ring Pellar presented during the proposal. Many had assumed it was an engagement ring, but she set the record straight. “It’s a promise ring, not an engagement ring,” she explained.
“A promise ring and an engagement ring aren’t the same o. An engagement ring is for marriage, and in two to three weeks we should be getting married. The time hasn’t come yet. This promise ring is a ring of ‘my love, I’m traveling to another country, please wait for me till I return,’ and I said okay. I’m not running anywhere, you know.” Her lighthearted yet firm clarification added a new dimension to the story.
Jarvis’s reflections also touched on her discomfort with public displays of affection and grand gestures in the spotlight. She admitted that while the proposal itself was memorable, she valued the intimacy of their relationship more than the spectacle.
