Jessica Alba and her husband of 16 years, film producer Cash Warren, have announced their separation.

The actress shared the news with her 20.6 million Instagram followers, revealing that she had been on a “journey of self-realisation.” She expressed that, although their romantic relationship had come to an end, their three children remain a central focus as they navigate a new chapter in their lives.

In her post, Alba reflected on her personal journey of growth, both as an individual and within her marriage to Warren. She wrote, “I’ve been on a journey of self-realisation and transformation for years—both as an individual and in partnership with Cash.”

The actress went on to express pride in the way they had evolved as a couple over the years, acknowledging the positive aspects of their marriage while recognizing that it was now time for them to continue growing separately.

Alba emphasized that their separation is happening with mutual respect and kindness. “We are moving forward with love and kindness and respect for each other and will forever be family,” she said, underscoring that despite the changes in their relationship, they would always be connected as a family. The couple’s three children—Honor, 16, Haven, 13, and Hayes, seven—remain their top priority as they move forward.

The couple’s relationship began in 2004, when they met on the set of Fantastic Four, where Alba starred as the superhero Susan Storm and Warren worked as an assistant to director Tim Story.

Alba once shared a memorable story about Warren slipping her a note signed with a dollar sign—matching his name—saying, “I really, really like you.” The two quickly formed a bond, leading to a whirlwind romance.

Alba and Warren eloped in 2008, while she was nine months pregnant with their first child, Honor. In a 2022 interview with Glamour magazine, Alba recalled how they decided to marry in a low-key ceremony, despite the big changes in their lives. The couple went on to expand their family, welcoming a second daughter, Haven, in 2011, and their son Hayes in 2017.

Beyond her acting career, Alba has also found success as a businesswoman. She began her career at a young age, landing early roles in Nickelodeon’s The Secret World of Alex Mack and the 1990s TV series Flipper.

She gained widespread recognition for her role as Max Guevara in Dark Angel, for which she earned a Golden Globe nomination at just 19 years old. She later starred in the hit film Honey and the action-packed Sin City.

Alba’s entrepreneurial spirit led her to co-found The Honest Company in 2012, an ethical consumer goods brand focused on non-toxic household and personal care products.

After years of leading the company, she stepped down from her position as Chief Creative Officer in 2022 but continues to serve on the company’s board. In her statement, she expressed excitement about focusing on “new endeavours” in the future, signaling a shift toward other professional goals.
