The Super Bowl pregame show is set to showcase the vibrant musical heritage of Louisiana, with a star-studded lineup of performers native to the state.

Grammy and Oscar-winning artist Jon Batiste will lead the pregame festivities with his rendition of the national anthem, while the dynamic Trombone Shorty and renowned contemporary Christian singer Lauren Daigle will perform America the Beautiful.

These performances will take place on February 9 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, preceding the NFL championship game and a highly anticipated halftime show headlined by rap sensation Kendrick Lamar, the NFL announced on Thursday.

Seth Dudowsky, the NFL’s head of music, emphasized the significance of the pregame lineup, stating, “We’re honored to work with this year’s pregame performers to celebrate the rich musical legacy of New Orleans and the entire state.”

The lineup reflects Louisiana’s diverse musical culture and includes performances by other local luminaries. Rounding out the pregame acts is Grammy-winning singer Ledisi, who will perform Lift Every Voice and Sing, further enriching the evening’s celebratory atmosphere.

The inclusivity of the performances extends to American Sign Language (ASL), with actor Stephanie Nogueras signing the national anthem and America the Beautiful. Otis Jones IV will provide ASL interpretation for Lift Every Voice and Sing, and the halftime show will be signed by Matt Maxey.

This initiative ensures accessibility for all fans and highlights the NFL’s commitment to inclusivity. The pregame festivities, which will be broadcast on Fox, promise a memorable showcase of Louisiana talent.

Behind the scenes, the halftime show will be co-executively produced by Jay-Z’s Roc Nation and Emmy-winning producer Jesse Collins, adding an extra layer of star power to the event. With a mix of seasoned and emerging talent, the Super Bowl promises not only an exhilarating game but also a cultural celebration deeply rooted in New Orleans’ storied musical tradition.

Jon Batiste, who rose to fame as the bandleader on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, continues to make waves in the music industry. His recent projects include the Oscar-nominated documentary American Symphony and its accompanying song, It Never Went Away, which is nominated for a Grammy.

Batiste also composed the score for Jason Reitman’s Saturday Night and recently released Beethoven Blues (Batiste Piano Series, Vol. 1), a reimagining of the works of the legendary composer.

Trombone Shorty, known for his electrifying fusion of funk, soul, R&B, and rock, has shared stages with iconic acts like Lenny Kravitz, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and the Foo Fighters. His energetic performances and innovative sound have made him a standout in contemporary music.

Similarly, Lauren Daigle, a two-time Grammy winner, gained international recognition for her hit song You Say from her 2018 album Look Up Child, establishing her as one of the leading voices in contemporary Christian music.

Ledisi, a Grammy-winning artist celebrated for her soulful voice, will also add to the pregame magic. Known for her 2020 hit single Anything for You, she has also appeared in acclaimed films such as Leatherheads, Spinning Gold, and the Oscar-nominated Selma.

Together, this diverse lineup of Louisiana-born talent promises to create an unforgettable prelude to the Super Bowl, celebrating both the state’s musical legacy and the global appeal of the NFL.
