Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Chief Elizabeth Anjorin, popularly known as Lizzy Anjorin, has been officially cleared of all criminal allegations in a legal dispute involving her, Saheed Mosadoluwa (also known as Ibile), and Harmony Gardens and Estate Development Limited.
The high-profile case, which had generated significant public interest, was heard at the Upper Area Court I in Ilorin, Kwara State. After months of legal battles and speculations, Anjorin has now received a clean bill of health, signaling a major legal victory in her favor.
The case was originally filed as a direct criminal complaint and had been progressing through the court system in Kwara State. Legal representatives from both parties presented their arguments in a bid to establish their claims.
However, just as the case appeared to be taking a complicated turn, the Kwara State Attorney General intervened. Citing reasons deemed appropriate under the law, the Attorney General took over the case and made a formal application for its termination. This unexpected move significantly altered the trajectory of the proceedings.
With the Attorney General’s intervention, the presiding judge, Hon. Yunus Kayode, carefully reviewed the case and ultimately ruled in favor of the application to terminate the legal proceedings.
The decision was a pivotal moment for Anjorin, as it not only led to the automatic dismissal of the case but also effectively absolved her of any legal wrongdoing in the matter. The ruling marked a significant win for the actress, who had maintained her innocence throughout the legal battle.
On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, the court officially issued its ruling, bringing an end to the litigation. The judgment explicitly stated that after considering the arguments from both the complainant’s counsel and the defense, as well as the Attorney General’s request to take over and terminate the case, the court had reached a final decision.
With that, both the direct criminal complaint, which had been dated February 24, 2025, and the subsequent cross-complaint, filed on March 11, 2025, were formally dismissed.
The court’s official ruling was recorded under its seal and signed by the presiding judge, reinforcing the legality and finality of the decision. The judgment affirmed that the defendants, including Lizzy Anjorin, were fully discharged from all allegations.
For Anjorin, this moment symbolized a significant relief and a reaffirmation of her legal standing, effectively putting to rest the controversies surrounding the case.
With this victory, Lizzy Anjorin can now move forward without the burden of the legal dispute hanging over her. The actress, known for her resilience and outspoken nature, has been at the center of public attention throughout the proceedings.
Now, with her name officially cleared, she is expected to resume her career and continue her contributions to Nollywood, free from the legal turmoil that had momentarily overshadowed her professional and personal life.
Following the court’s judgment in her favor, Nollywood actress and businesswoman Chief Elizabeth Anjorin has spoken out about the circumstances that led to the criminal accusations against her.
She claimed that the complainant had deliberately filed the case in an attempt to have her imprisoned. According to Anjorin, the legal battle was not just a one-sided accusation but a cross-suit that eventually led both parties to become defendants before the court dismissed the charges against her.
Speaking on the matter, Anjorin, who is the Chief Executive Officer of California Paradise City in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos, explained that the case stemmed from a land dispute, which originally took place in Lagos.
However, she accused the complainant of taking the matter to a court in Ilorin, Kwara State, with the sole intention of having her locked up.
“The case bordered on a land dispute, and it all happened in Lagos. But the complainant went ahead and filed a criminal suit against me in Ilorin, Kwara State, to lock my enemy away in prison,” she revealed.
She went on to explain how the case unfolded in court, emphasizing that she defended herself by providing strong evidence and counter-suing the complainant.
“When I got there, I presented my evidence, cross-sued, and both of us became defendants,” Anjorin stated. She described how she was summoned on a Friday based on the initial case against her and showed up in court as required. However, after she and her legal team counter-sued the complainant, the tables turned.
Anjorin recounted how the complainant failed to appear in court when summoned for the counter-case against him.
“I was summoned on Friday based on his case, and I showed up, but we counter-sued him. On Tuesday, they sent his summon, but he didn’t show up. And when they wanted to continue with the case we filed against him, I withdrew it and left him for God,” she disclosed.
This move, she implied, was her way of choosing peace over prolonged legal battles.
The actress also took a moment to appreciate the unwavering support she received from her fans and legal team throughout the ordeal.
“I am thankful to my fans and, most especially, my lawyers for doing a good job. I also appreciate the judicial system in Ilorin. I appreciate the fact that they did a thorough investigation and also accepted my complaints and the evidence presented,” she said.
According to her, their professionalism ensured that justice was served fairly.
Anjorin further expressed her gratitude to the Kwara State Government and its judiciary for handling the case with integrity.
“The Kwara State Government, through its judiciary system, did not use their office and state to punish innocent people like me, and for that, I am grateful. With all that people have been saying, my case proves that Ilorin is not how people paint it when it comes to their judiciary system,” she stated.
With her name now cleared, Anjorin is ready to move forward, leaving the legal battle behind her.
