Netflix has given the green light for a second season of the action-packed K-drama “Bloodhounds,” nearly a year after its debut. The show, which centers around two rebellious boxers fighting against illegal loan sharks in South Korea, captivated audiences with its gripping bromance and intense storyline.
Despite controversies surrounding lead actress Kim Sae Ron, fans eagerly anticipate the return of stars Lee Sang Yi and Woo Do Hwan for another thrilling season.
According to a report from Korean news outlet Sports Seoul, production for “Bloodhounds” Season 2 is set to commence in the latter half of 2024.
This suggests that viewers may expect the series to hit OTT platforms by 2025. The first season, based on the webtoon series by Jeon Chan, premiered on June 9, 2023, garnering widespread attention worldwide.
While the success of the first season propelled the show to the top of Netflix’s non-English Top 10 category, it was not without challenges.
Lead actress Kim Sae Ron’s DUI incident led to backlash and her early departure from the series, prompting producers to alter and shorten her scenes. Her involvement in the upcoming season remains uncertain.
Despite setbacks, “Bloodhounds” Season 1 resonated with audiences, accumulating millions of viewing hours within days of its release.
The dynamic storyline follows ex-marines Gun Woo and Woo Jin as they navigate the world of boxing to protect Gun Woo’s mother from debt. As fans eagerly await the official plot for Season 2, the anticipation for another thrilling installment of “Bloodhounds” continues to grow.
