Veteran actress Liz Benson has made a return to Nollywood after several years away from acting, featuring in a new film titled “A Mother’s Son.”

The movie, produced by Mercy Johnson and directed by Vincent De Anointed, marks Benson’s comeback to the industry she once dominated.

Mercy Johnson shared the news in a behind-the-scenes video on Instagram, where the cast expressed their excitement at working with Benson again.

The film boasts a seasoned cast including Mike Godson, Mercy Johnson, Evia Simon, Ozioma Maurice, and George Inaibeh. Benson, moved by the warm reception from her colleagues, expressed her joy at reuniting with old friends and meeting new faces in the industry.

Liz Benson, 58, from Etinan, Akwa Ibom in southern Nigeria, began her acting career at age five and gained widespread recognition in 1993 with her role as Agnes Johnson in the television soap opera “Fortunes.”

She rose to fame in the 1990s, starring in acclaimed movies like “Glamour Girls,” “True Confession,” “Diamond Rings,” and “Scores to Settle.”

Before her return to acting, Benson had taken a step back from the film industry to focus on her faith. She became a born-again Christian and now preaches the gospel as an ordained minister.
