Award-winning gospel singer Mercy Chinwo Blessed has publicly accused her former manager, Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, also known as Eezeetee, of making life unbearable for her through threats and intimidation.

In a new video shared on her Instagram page, Mercy alleged that Eezeetee had vowed to destroy her, forcing her to relocate to Port Harcourt to escape the harassment.

She recounted enduring persistent bullying and intimidation, stating that the situation became so toxic that she had no choice but to leave her previous base for her safety and peace of mind.

Addressing claims made by Eezeetee, Mercy Chinwo clarified that contrary to his accusations that she dragged him to court, it was, in fact, he who initiated legal action against her and fellow gospel artist Minister Judikay.

She accused him of leveraging his influence and connections to orchestrate a campaign of threats against her, going as far as allegedly attempting to harm her career and personal well-being. Mercy alleged that he had continually bullied her, making it clear that he would use any means necessary to make her suffer for refusing to comply with his demands.

One of the major points of contention between Mercy and Eezeetee stemmed from a contract dispute. She revealed that he had pressured her to sign a 12-year contract, which she adamantly refused.

Her refusal, she claimed, was the catalyst for the breakdown of their professional relationship and the beginning of his vendetta against her. She further alleged that Eezeetee’s personal disputes with gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey and popular pastor Jerry Eze fueled his antagonism towards her. She even claimed that he went as far as spreading false stories about the paternity of her child in an attempt to tarnish her reputation.

The long-simmering tension between Mercy Chinwo and Eezeetee recently became public when she accused him of diverting her royalties, allegedly amounting to over $600,000.

She insisted that he had unlawfully withheld earnings that rightfully belonged to her, a claim that sparked widespread conversation within the gospel music industry.

Eezeetee, however, has repeatedly denied all allegations, maintaining his innocence and insisting that the matter be settled through arbitration rather than public confrontation. He has continued to stand by his position, dismissing Mercy’s claims as baseless.

In her Instagram post, Mercy Chinwo expressed deep sorrow over the situation, sharing an emotional caption alongside the video. She described feeling overwhelmed by sadness every day, struggling to process the accusations and betrayals she has endured.

She lamented how people had unfairly labeled her, accused her of breaking contracts she never breached, and painted her in a false light. Despite the attacks, she reaffirmed her faith, declaring that God sees all and will ultimately serve justice on her behalf. She concluded her message with a scripture, calling upon God to avenge and bring justice against those who have wronged her.

This dispute is yet another example of the recurring conflicts between artists and their record labels in Nigeria’s music industry. While such disputes are common in the secular music scene, Mercy Chinwo’s case highlights the fact that the gospel music sector is not immune to similar issues.

The ongoing legal battle and public accusations reflect deeper tensions within the industry, where contractual disagreements and financial disputes frequently lead to public fallouts. As the situation unfolds, many are watching closely to see how it will be resolved and what it could mean for artist-label relationships moving forward.
