Nigerian gospel artist Mercy Chinwo has broken her silence on the ongoing dispute with her former record label boss, Ezekiel ThankGod, popularly known as Eezee Concept.

Through a statement issued by her legal team and shared on her Instagram page, Chinwo provided a detailed account of her professional journey with the music producer.

She explained how their relationship evolved, starting with her working as his background singer before becoming a signed artiste under his label.

In the statement, Chinwo revealed that she signed her first contract with Eezee Concept in 2017. However, she alleged that the dates on the contract were later altered to 2019 without her consent.

This, she noted, raised concerns about the integrity of their business dealings.

The singer further disclosed that Eezee Concept proposed extending her initial five-year contract to 12 years, a suggestion she firmly declined due to her personal and professional aspirations.

Chinwo recounted that four years into the contract, the relationship between her and Eezee Concept turned sour.

She claimed the environment became toxic, with instances of verbal and emotional abuse. “The relationship deteriorated significantly,” she stated.

She also alleged that Eezee Concept often made demeaning remarks, saying things like, “I will deal with you, I will mess you up, I made you who you are. I can shut you up, and nobody will hear you again, and I will destroy your career.”

These words, she claimed, were both hurtful and damaging to her emotional well-being.

The gospel star went on to allege that Eezee Concept misled event organizers about her availability, potentially damaging her reputation and professional opportunities.

According to Chinwo, such behavior not only affected her career but also undermined her ability to establish trust with those who wished to work with her.

Despite these challenges, she maintained that her goal was not to create unnecessary conflict but to seek clarity and fairness.

Addressing the ongoing lawsuit, Chinwo clarified that she did not file the case to demand ownership of her music catalogue, as has been rumored.

Instead, she is requesting the release of specific parts of her 2017 contract. “I am only asking for the first three pages and the execution page of the contract to be made public,” she said, adding that she believed the contract had been altered.

She emphasized that her intention is to protect her rights and ensure transparency.

The mother of one expressed disappointment at how the situation has unfolded but reiterated her commitment to standing up for herself.

This is not about revenge or malice,” she explained. “It is about ensuring that the truth is known and that my rights are respected.”

Chinwo also called on her fans to remain calm and continue to support her as she navigates this challenging period in her career.

Mercy Chinwo concluded her statement by thanking her supporters and emphasizing her faith. “God is my ultimate defender,” she said.

“I am confident that the truth will prevail, and I will continue to use my voice to glorify Him.

She assured her fans that this situation would not deter her from creating music that uplifts and inspires.
