Coldplay made history by becoming the first act to headline Glastonbury five times, delivering a record-breaking performance to a massive and enthusiastic audience.

Many in the crowd had seen them at previous festivals, but the band’s ability to put on a spectacular show was undeniable. Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis and other notable guests, including rapper Little Simz, watched from the stage as Coldplay performed to a crowd that stretched far into the night.

The set was a celebration of Coldplay’s success and Glastonbury’s legacy of supporting musical talent. A highlight of the evening was a surprise appearance by Michael J. Fox, who played guitar on “Fix You,” creating an emotionally charged moment. Backstage, Tom Cruise was among the fans as fireworks lit up the sky.

Coldplay’s performance featured their traditional LED wristbands, adding to the visual spectacle, and included hits like “Yellow,” “Higher Power,” “Clocks,” “Viva La Vida,” “The Scientist,” and “My Universe,” the latter performed with lyrics in both English and Korean.

Earlier, Kasabian’s surprise set drew a massive crowd, closing off the Woodsies area, and The Streets’ Mike Skinner entertained fans with a crowd-surfing performance at the Other Stage. Friday headliner Dua Lipa was seen enjoying the festival as a regular attendee.

Despite criticism of Coldplay’s selection as headliners, their massive audience and captivating show proved why they were chosen again. Coldplay’s fifth headline appearance solidified their place in Glastonbury history, surpassing The Cure’s record of four.

Those who doubted Coldplay’s appeal were reminded that the size of their audience speaks volumes about their enduring popularity and performance prowess.
