The younger brother of the late singer Mohbad, Adura, has been arrested by the Nigeria Police under dramatic circumstances at the Magistrates’ Court in Ogba, Lagos State.

His arrest, which occurred on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, came as a shock to many, as he was taken into custody alongside his friend, Ibrahim Koleosho, popularly known as King White. The duo had been attending a legal proceeding concerning a phone that Adura had reportedly sold to a man named Damola Ayinde.

What should have been a routine court visit quickly escalated into chaos as officers swooped in and detained them immediately after the hearing. Eyewitnesses reported that the arrest seemed premeditated, as the officers acted swiftly, leaving many in confusion about what was happening.

The incident took an emotional turn when Mohbad’s mother broke down in distress over Adura’s sudden detention. Overwhelmed with grief and fear, she cried out to Nigerians, pleading for their help in securing her son’s release.

“Please help me, Nigerians. Yomi Fabiyi and Sam Jojo have taken my son. I don’t know where they are taking him to. He asked them to take my son away. My son did nothing to them. They must not lay a hand on him, he is sick. Damola, you’ve put me in trouble. Mohbad’s spirit will fight you,” she wailed.

Her desperate plea highlighted her deep concern for Adura’s well-being, as she insisted that he was unwell and should not have been subjected to such treatment. The scene at the court was one of heartbreak, as bystanders watched her express her pain over yet another misfortune befalling her family.

A police source familiar with the arrest later confirmed that Adura and Koleosho had been taken into custody by operatives from the Zone 2 Police Command, not officers from the Lagos State Command. “Yes, they were arrested by the police operatives from Zone 2, Onikan, not men of the Lagos State Command,” the source revealed.

The clarification raised more questions about the nature of the arrest and why officers from a different jurisdiction were involved in the matter. It also fueled speculations that the incident was more than just a simple case of a phone sale dispute. Some observers began to question whether there were larger forces at play, especially given the ongoing controversies surrounding Mohbad’s death and its aftermath.

As the news of the arrest spread, confusion and concern deepened among those close to the family. A source with inside knowledge of the situation expressed their frustration over the lack of clear information about Adura’s whereabouts.

“We don’t know the whereabouts of Adura, but I can confirm that his friend, Koleosho, was arrested after the court proceedings today. Everything just happened suddenly. We learnt there has been some exchange of words between Koleosho and Fabiyi over the issue relating to the phone and this may have led to the arrest. We don’t know where the security men came from, but we have been trying to locate their whereabouts,” the source disclosed.

Their statement suggested that there might have been an underlying tension between the parties involved, possibly escalating the situation beyond what was initially assumed.

As family members and well-wishers scramble to gather information, the arrest of Adura raises fresh concerns about justice and due process in Nigeria. Many are now demanding transparency regarding the circumstances of his detention and calling on the authorities to ensure his safety.

The emotional turmoil experienced by Mohbad’s mother has only added to the public outcry, with many sympathizing with her pain and expressing anger over what they see as an unfair targeting of her family.

As the story continues to unfold, Nigerians are watching closely, hoping for answers and accountability in a case that has left more questions than answers.
