“Momiwa,” a film directed by Biodun Stephen, has made its debut on Prime Video. Announced via Stephen’s Instagram on May 10, 2024, the film delves into the story of a cherished housekeeper whose presence brings joy to a household, until the return of her boss’ wife sparks tension and rivalry within the family dynamic.
Produced in collaboration with Uddy Udoh and Shutterspeed Projects, “Momiwa” is a compelling family drama featuring a talented cast including Blessing Jessica Obasi, Iyabo Ojo, Uzor Arukwe, Lilian Afegbai, Michael Akpujiha, and Mc Lively.
Biodun Stephen, renowned for her heartfelt storytelling, has a repertoire of successful films to her credit, including “Strangers,” “Breaded Life,” “Introducing the Kujus,” “A Simple Lie,” and “Sista.” Notably, “Sista” earned her both the Audience and Jury awards for Best Movie at the Nollywood film festival held in Paris in 2022.
