Three months after his departure from FilmOne, Moses Babatope has launched Nile Media Entertainment Group, a new entertainment company focused on film production, distribution, cinema experiences, and talent development.
Babatope, serving as Group CEO, announced that Nile will operate through five subsidiaries: Nile Entertainment, Nile Cinemas, Nile Motion Pictures, Nile Studio Lab, and The Nile Foundation.
The company has already secured the rights to distribute 31 films both locally and internationally.
Nile’s leadership team includes notable industry figures such as Biola Sokenu as executive director and group COO, actress Abimbola Craig as vice president of production, Lolu Desalu as executive director, Bukky George Taylor as VP of Nile X (the cinema arm), and Nowekere Alexis Segun-Ojo as general manager of distribution and marketing.
Babatope’s vision for Nile is to celebrate African stories and elevate them on a global stage, aiming to reshape the future of African entertainment with innovative ideas.
The entertainment sector plays a significant role in Nigeria’s economy, and Nile Media Entertainment Group plans to explore new markets, creating, showcasing, and distributing content across West Africa and beyond.
Babatope emphasized that Nile’s mission is larger than just an individual or another entertainment company; it aims to innovate, disrupt, and generate new revenue streams to significantly grow the Nigerian film industry.
