Nicki Minaj’s scheduled show in Amsterdam has been canceled following her arrest in the Dutch capital last Saturday for allegedly attempting to transport “soft drugs” out of the country.
The Trinidad-born rapper was detained at Schiphol Airport for approximately six hours, leading to the cancellation of her Manchester performance on the same evening.
After paying a fine of 350 euros (£300), Minaj was permitted to fly to the UK. The 41-year-old artist, known for hits like “Starships,” “Super Bass,” and “Anaconda,” expressed dissatisfaction with her treatment at the airport, alleging racial discrimination.
The concert promoter, Mojo, announced the cancellation of Minaj’s upcoming show at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome, citing the events of last week as the reason.
Despite Minaj’s livestreamed protestations that the drugs found in her luggage were not hers, the Netherlands’ military police stated that her arrest was standard procedure for individuals attempting to pass border control with drugs.
Tickets for the canceled Amsterdam show will be refunded, as stated on the promoter’s website.
Meanwhile, the rescheduled Manchester gig at the Co-op Live arena is set to take place on Monday evening.
Minaj apologized to fans for the inconvenience caused by the canceled Manchester show and encouraged attendance at the rescheduled event on June 3rd.
She also announced a second leg of her Pink Friday 2 World Tour, scheduled to commence in September.
