Nicki Minaj has announced the rescheduling of her Manchester concert for June 3rd, after being forced to cancel the original May 25th date due to her arrest in the Netherlands.
The rapper, 41, was detained for hours at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport on suspicion of carrying drugs, which she denied owning. Minaj announced the new date on her X page, apologizing for the inconvenience and expressing her hope that fans could attend the rescheduled show.
She wrote:
“OK guys, I was JUST RE-ADVISED that we actually CAN NOT do any other date for the make up #gagcityMANCHESTER date besides JUNE 3rd.
“So JUNE 3rd is the new official date for all ticket holders who originally had tickets to the MAY 25th #Manchester show.
“I apologise for all the inconvenience this has caused.
“I really hope you can make the #JUNE3rd show. It’ll be really special. Ticketmaster will contact you to advise officially.”
Minaj, known for hits like “Starships,” “Super Bass,” and “Anaconda,” livestreamed her arrest, claiming the drugs were not hers. Despite the cancellation, she praised her fans for their understanding and even invited them to her hotel in Manchester.
Dutch police confirmed the arrest of a 41-year-old woman attempting to transport “soft drugs” and later released her after she paid a fine.
Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 World Tour continues with performances in Birmingham on Sunday and London on Tuesday at the 02 Arena.
She is also scheduled to play in Glasgow on Wednesday and return to Manchester on Thursday, performing again at the Co-op Live.
