A civil lawsuit involving actor Nicolas Cage has taken a turn as the claims against him have now been dismissed.

The lawsuit was originally filed by his ex-girlfriend, Christina Fulton, who accused Cage of negligence for allegedly failing to prevent an assault by their son, Weston Cage. Fulton had initially named the Oscar-winning actor as a defendant in the case, asserting that he played a role in enabling their son’s alleged violent behavior. However, recent reports from US media confirm that Cage is no longer part of the lawsuit, bringing an end to his legal involvement in the matter.

The lawsuit was first filed in February, and at the time, Nicolas Cage’s legal team dismissed the claims as “frivolous.” His lawyers argued that Cage had no control over his adult son’s behavior and could not be held responsible for the alleged assault.

In response to the initial allegations, his attorneys made it clear that Cage was not involved in the incident and should not be legally implicated. Now that the claims against him have been dropped, it marks a significant development in the legal battle, shifting the focus solely to Weston Cage and his alleged actions.

While Nicolas Cage is no longer part of the case, the proceedings against his 34-year-old son, Weston Cage, are still moving forward. Christina Fulton has accused Weston of attacking her in what she described as a “manic rage” in April 2024.

According to her lawsuit, the assault was unprovoked and left her with severe injuries, including a concussion, neck and throat damage, dental trauma, abdominal injuries, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The allegations paint a picture of a brutal and violent encounter, one that has led to serious legal consequences for Weston.

Weston Cage was previously arrested in June 2024 in connection with the incident and charged with two felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon. He has since pleaded not guilty to both charges and is expected to fight the accusations in court.

His legal team has downplayed the severity of the case, with his lawyer suggesting that Fulton’s history of litigation against family members casts doubt on her motives. The attorney characterized the lawsuit as a “money grab and call for attention,” implying that the allegations may be exaggerated or financially motivated.

Despite no longer being named in the lawsuit, Nicolas Cage remains connected to the broader controversy due to his relationship with his son. Christina Fulton has alleged that Cage was aware of Weston’s “long history of mental and psychological disorder” and past acts of violence.

She also claimed that Cage enabled his son’s behavior by continuing to provide financial support. Although these claims are no longer part of the lawsuit, they highlight the ongoing personal and legal turmoil within the family.

As the case against Weston Cage progresses, it remains to be seen how the legal battle will unfold and what impact it will have on all those involved.
